IS THIS A NEW FUTURE TAKING SHAPE FOR ALEX GAMBAL?

Alexandre

“At the time when Alex arrived there were very few negociants and many winegrowers had grapes to sell.  With the economic boom for Burgundy the number of wine merchants has grown extremely fast and the majority of winegrowers have begun to sell more and more of their wine in bottle.

This phenomenon, and a series of low volume vintages, forced us in 2012 to think about the future of the domain.  The solution emerged fairly quickly: we had to be in control of the vines in order to ensure quality and long term supply.”

NEW TEAM, NEW METHODS?

Alexandre Brault

“No, of course not! The new team we have put together has strengthened our established methods even more. Having a talented team focused entirely on the vineyards has enabled our wines to improve even faster with all our vines now certified organic.”

A new team arrives at Alex Gambal, headed by Alexandre Brault, Managing Manager.  Youth, energy and open-mindedness mark a new turning point.

FRANÇOISE VANNIER-PETIT HAS ALSO COMPLETED HIS WORK OF SPECIFYING THE TERROIRS FOR YOU.

Alex

“In 2011 we called upon the services of Francoise, a geologist and an expert of Burgundy terroirs, to examine three of our vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet and help us define their characteristics. We examined their soils and sub-soils, the fundamental bases that give them their complexity, character and changed how we perceived the vineyards and most importantly gave us insights in how to farm them better and differently.”
